This project drastically transformed a typical dining facility inside and out, with the end result being a modern, highly functional and welcoming student center. Critical elements included the reconfiguration of the building’s floorplan to allow for a new conference room, an archives display to showcase the school’s rich history, a modernized kitchen & servery, and an expanded dining room. This required the creation of three small alcove seating additions to the dining room, the expansion of the loading dock and walk-in refrigerator, and the installation of a new freight elevator. Along with the replacement or modification of all of mechanical systems, renovations also included significant AV and data upgrades, the installation of an ornamental cupola above the main entrance, and the replacement of the existing flat roof with a new pitched roof featuring a dramatic, exposed truss system in the dining room.
